"Tempo d'Acqua" / "Time of Water" is a short introductory film produced for the Biennale di Pisa. The film's intention is to offer a critical perspective and to suggest the changes in the world and contemporary lifestyles by intertwining architecture with water.
Discussing climate change often leads us into a maze of stereotypes, yet the "Tempodacqua" video presented at the Biennale transcends these clichés. This work encapsulates our collective anxieties and stands as the predominant motif under the Biennale’s theme, "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days," a phrase borrowed from Ecclesiastes highlighting the reciprocity of giving and receiving. The video explores the "cycles of existence," periods when water has both bestowed and retracted blessings, deliberately avoiding any connotations of good or bad, instead acknowledging our current predicament with a call to harness our collective creativity.
The narrative crafted in "Tempodacqua" is particularly focused on the cyclical nature of time, accentuating significant moments and the transitions between different epochs. It advocates for the integration of "slow time" into the "fast time" imposed by modern life, urging a return to the basics: observing, listening, and seeing the unseen. This approach does not only reflect reality but also introduces an element of magic. It encourages us to pause before the unseen, to engage with the gravity of time—its layers, depths, and the notion that it exists as a bridge between eras.
